The Maine Conservation Corps is looking for people to join our Field Team Program. These teams work throughout the state building trails, and are comprised of young men and women from all areas of Maine. The work is challenging, and the rewards are many. The people who serve carry enduring memories of good times and good friends for years to come. MCC is now offering a term service matched to the summer vacation of high school seniors. Some teams spend their season working in the wilderness setting of the Appalachian Trail where they backpack through remote areas of Maine’s mountains. Other teams work in state and municipal parks. Clearing new trails, building rustic timber bridges, constructing side-hill trails and building timber staircases. Still other teams work on community projects. These teams build gravel wheelchair paths, and engage local volunteers to help improve their communities.
